St. Louis Reunite Trailer
By LRC Board of Directors - Thursday August 10, 2017.

WHAT:Local American Kennel Club dog clubs and dog lovers have joined together with AKC Reunite, the nation’s largest non-profit pet identification and recovery service, to donate a life-saving AKC Pet Disaster Relief trailer to the St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management.

The donated trailer will be unveiled on Sunday, August 27th during Pet-A-Palooza at Purina Farms.

The trailer houses supplies that create a safe, temporary home-base for at least 65 pets immediately after a disaster is declared. Materials can be used as co-location shelters where people evacuate with their pets, or as stand-alone emergency animal shelters for displaced animals.

The purchase of the trailer was made possible by more than $22,000 in donations and grants from the Three Rivers Kennel Club, the North Arkansas Kennel Club, the Edwardsville Illinois Kennel Club, the Labrador Retriever Club and AKC Reunite. The trailer will provide materials to help St. Louis County prepare for disaster without using taxpayer dollars.
