Breed Standard

The Labrador Retriever is a strongly built, medium-sized, short-coupled, dog possessing a sound, athletic, well-balanced conformation that enables it to function as a retrieving gun dog; the substance and soundness to hunt waterfowl and much more. Read more.

Illustrated Standard

This publication is approved by the Board of Directors of the Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. It constitutes the only official illustrated interpretation of the Standard and it is intended as an educational aid for judges, breeders, exhibitors and owners of Labrador Retrievers.
